Vision Task
Have you ever wondered why some people are able to develop a grandiose theme for life or relay a huge plan for achieving an incredible and even envious lifestyle?
Note : They have developed this plan and theme in their mind. They have not accomplished it themselves. . .yet.
Then you have others who seem to be able to complete anything you set in front of them. They can take a set of instructions and work until it’s completed with perfection. This person will do whatever it takes to follow the instructions, even if it takes months.
Note : This person is not the huge grandiose planner for a dream-life. Sure, he/she has an idea of what that dream-life could be, but the plan and the development in the mind isn’t as easy as following the directions.
Well what we have here are two different kinds of people. You probably saw yourself in one of these examples.
We could put it another way. One person here is a dreamer. The other person is a task oriented individual. Neither are bad in and of themselves. And both have their strengths.
Here’s a problem though.
With both of these there are also weaknesses. Together they would be an extremely strong people with extraordinary skills to get almost anything.
The question is : Which person did you relate to when I was explaining them?
If you want to really excel in life and what you want out of life, become these two people in one – yourself.
You may be saying, “Okay. Sounds great! How in the world do you do that?”
Simple.
Training.
Just like you can train yourself to get up earlier and live on less sleep, you can train yourself to work on a task basis as well as train to dream and enhance your creative process.
For those who need help in Task Completion Training :
You are a dreamer. That’s not a bad thing. You just may need help training your mind to actually sit down and make it happen. You probably have a great start. You may even be able to see the end. But the follow up is tricky because you’re on to the next big thing before your get ‘this’ idea any momentum to work.
All you need is an hour a day. You will sit down for one hour per day for no less than 2 weeks. Work for the entire hour every day (take weekends off). This is a training, so you will feel like getting up all throughout the training.
There will always be more to do. But at the end of this article, you’ll see a light at the end of the tunnel if you start doing this and end up hating it. So stay with me.
For those who need help in Dreaming or producing Ideas :
This one can be fun. Make it a game. There are a few things you can do to change it up.
1. Play the association game.
Take anything you see and make a conversation out of association with things that naturally link to it. For example, I’m typing write now. So I’d start by saying, “Typing can be a pain because it take a while to learn how to do it correctly. In fact, the pain can cause carpel tunnel over time. I used to live in a town with a tunnel. I remember being a little kid riding through the tunnel with my parents and I’d try to hold my breath all the way through the tunnel without exhaling. But you have to exhale eventually because you’ve got to breathe. But you can’t breathe when you’re under water because there’s not enough oxygen for humans. But you could if you were a fish. I love to fish. Bass fishing is my favorite. Which reminds me, I have to get my trolling motor fixed. It broke last time I was out. My boys break things all the time. It’s hard not to get angry. But boys are rough sometimes and that’s just boys being boys. I remember in high school when guys were rough. . . .
That’s one way you can increase ideas. Do this association game as often as you can. If you really want to annoy the fire out of people you know, just do it to them
in casual conversation.
2. Another recommendation is to get a book on creativity. It’s a great read and you’ll get lots of ideas on how to increase your creativity.
3. Brainstorm with others. More often than not, if you have a group of like minded people together talking about ideas that you are interested in, you’ll find that something you say, will generate an idea in someone else. When they start talking about that idea, it will generate something in someone else or you. The process can go for hours. Before long, you’ll leave with a huge list of ideas, dreams and how to accomplish it. Brainstorming can be a powerful tool – and you’re building valuable relationships at the same time.
I mentioned earlier that you may not be able to stand the thought of doing either of these. If you fall into this category, there is good news. Chances are you will only have to do these exercises for a few months before you’re in a position to hire someone else to do these things for you.
When we’re starting out with these concepts, the goal usually is to earn enough money to outsource the things we don’t want to do or are weak in. So if you start these and you can’t afford to hire someone to do it for you, go ahead and keep at it. Eventually, you will be able to outsource those things you don’t want to do anyway.
